MORNING VIEW is the new work by the Sardinian musician Francesco Perra, aka Perry Frank, published as an EP by the Australian label Valley View Records.
Morning View features four unreleased instrumental Ambient tracks characterized by textures and guitar drones that create imaginary and dreamy atmospheres. All the songs were written in the summer of 2021, in the period of July / August (except the title track) in which Sardinia was disfigured by forest fires and saw a large part of its landscape dissolved.
This disaster has greatly inspired the sounds of the EP and the image of a landscape that radically changes due to a fire must be kept in mind when listening to the songs. The title track, on the other hand, has been featured in the live performances since the summer of 2020.
Morning View is a classic Ambient song characterized by a background drone that starts bright and then develops into a series of guitar swells chords and finally returns to the sounds of the beginning.
Alagon is a sinister and heavy guitar drone that develops slowly to an almost unexpected final progession of strings chords.
This Is All We Leave drags the listener into even more restless territories and accompanies to the final track Mistral which returns to clearer atmospheres on the path opened by the first song, but this time in a more melancholy way.
The listener is accompanied on a sonic trip created by a guitar which, processed through a series of effects and rendered almost similar to a synth carpet, becomes practically unrecognizable.
